Runtime Error
so i ran the site on the server and got this:
The files '/App_Code/AssemblyInfo.vb' and '/App_Code/ADefHelpDesk/dnnHelpDeskDAL.designer.cs' use a different language, which is not allowed since they need to be compiled together.

Can you tell us what the sql errors were?

Also please check the installation directions to ensure that you have a server that meets all the requirements. For example, you must have SQL Server 2005 or higher.

Thank You

I had the same problem...

dont know why though, it seems like a straight forward install.

the only thing different in my install is that dnn was installed in a sub directory and i moved it to root directory.

other than that i have what is needed but it doesnt seem to work.

What problem was that? You can log in as the Administrator and from the Admin menu, select Event Viewer to see all the errors.

The:
"'/App_Code/ADefHelpDesk/dnnHelpDeskDAL.designer.cs' use a different language, which is not allowed since they need to be compiled together" error

is because the installation directions were not followed and Linqprep was not installed or Asp.net 3.5 and SQL 2005 or higher was not installed.

If you are using DotNetNuke 5.01 or lower, use the DotNetNuke 4 installation directions that require that you install LinqPrep first.

The directions are here:
http://www.adefhelpdesk.com/Documentation/DotNetNukeVersion/Installing/InstallingUpgradingonDotNetNuke4/tabid/65/Default.aspx

At the bottom of those directions it explains how to fix your website if it is down.
